    The Obelisk

Built by award winning ITC Group Construction, The Obelisk is the tallest residential building in the Lower Mainland outside of Vancouver. Thematically, the water feature imitates an ancient ruin whose foundation was quarried from the bedrock that it sits upon. Raincity carved both the bedrock below as well as the quarried masonry work that sits atop it. Both elements are actually cladding an existing structural concrete retaining wall that sits on top of the structural slab for the underground parking lot. From an engineering standpoint, our lightweight rockwork was approved as cladding where the city inspectors had previously rejected traditional masonry.
