Nester's Road Residence

The Nesters Road Residence is a large scale luxury home that needed a creative solution for a retaining wall that separated the property from its next door neighbour. Suffering from a glaring lack of privacy, a simple rip rap wall did not allow for the planting pockets, whose trees would eventually shield site-lines from the property above. Raincity designed a solution that was successful in three specific ways. First, planting pockets provided privacy as well as softening the severity of the stone wall. Second, the wall could be matched to existing "Whister" rock that was exposed during excavation. Thirdly, and sometime most importantly, the wall was tiered to avoid strict permitting requirements for structural engineering of over-height retaining walls.
